Protection and Control Technician

Location: You will work in three different rural locations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Duration of each location will be approximately one year – locations may include Happy Valley-Goose Bay, St. Anthony, Bishop’s Falls, Bay d’Espoir, Stephenville and Whitbourne.

Are you interested in an opportunity for a great career start and work in Newfoundland and Labrador? Our Protection and Control Technician program is a three-year developmental program designed to provide you with the hands-on experience in terminal stations, hydro-electric plants, diesel plants and combustion turbines. For the successful candidate, we will establish a plan which will consist of three, one-year rotations in our rural operating areas, which may include any of the following: Happy Valley-Goose Bay, St. Anthony, Bishop’s Falls, Bay d’Espoir, Stephenville and Whitbourne.
Required Qualifications
You have graduated high school and have completed a three-year Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology program (2026 Graduates will also be considered for this position). You must possess a valid driver’s license and travel is required. You have thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety. You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
