Senior Supervisor, Financial Reporting

Key Responsibilities:

­
  • Provide direction to the financial reporting team to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Review and approve month-end journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal reporting deliverables.
  • Review of external financial statements and notes, in accordance with IFRS.
  • Preparation of quarterly financial statements and related reports for the Regulator, the divisional quarterly management discussion and analysis and board reports.
  • Supporting the external audit, through the preparation and review of audit working papers, ensuring timelines are adhered to.
  • Complete and deliver, in conjunction with your team, detailed analysis to provide information in response to questions from various stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

­
  • Proven supervisory experience, strong analytical and managerial skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
­
What You’ll Need:

­
  • A University Degree in Commerce or Business Administration and a recognized accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent supervisory and accounting experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in a finance environment including experience in supervision of a finance team, coordinating external audits, data extraction and analysis.
  • An equivalent combination of qualifications and related experience may also be considered.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities;
  • General knowledge of the electric utility or other capital intensive industry;
  • Working knowledge of IFRS or other recognized GAAP.
  • Effective and proficient in the use of excel.
