Manager, Contracts and Sourcing

Key Responsibilities:
• Contract Management:Oversee the full contract lifecycle—drafting, negotiation, execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout.
• Risk & Compliance: Identify risks, ensure legal and policy compliance, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Financial Oversight: Ensure favorable terms, accurate payments, and alignment with budget and business needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations to align contracts with organizational objectives. Engage with applicable government agencies to ensure understanding and compliance with requirements such as acts, trade agreements, bills etc.
• Process Improvement: Standardize contract templates and workflows; lead initiatives to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
• Data & Reporting: Monitor KPIs, analyze contract data, and report on performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Technology Optimization: Maximize use of systems like JD Edwards and Bids & Tenders for procurement and contract tracking.
• Strategic Sourcing: Support supplier performance, compliance, and value-based procurement.
• Use data from inventory and demand planning to identify contracting needs for the business.
• Analyze procurement data for contract opportunities and trends.
• Policy & Governance: Develop contract policies aligned with legislation and sustainability goals.
• Reporting Analytics: monitor contract performance and compliance metrics, provide regular reports to senior leadership on contract status, risks and opportunities.
• Utilize data to identify contract opportunities and improvements. Explore current software capabilities to fullest of capabilities to obtain best in practise contract management process, tracking and planning.
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Health & Safety: Promote safety culture and participate in emergency response planning.
• Regulatory Engagement: Maintain relationships with regulators and ensure best practices in contract standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor staff, allocate resources, and ensure service levels are met.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
What You’ll Need:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law or Legal Studies, Finance or Accounting with major courses in Supply Chain Management are preferred.
• Completion of Supply Chain, Procurement and/or Contracts Management professional certification is an asset.
• A minimum of ten (10) years related progressively responsible experience in Supply Chain Management, including contract administration, negotiation and management. Additional knowledge in buying; contract development, management, and administration; computerized procurement and inventory systems; and proven ability to manage complex, high-value contracts across multiple categories.
