HR/LR Assistant (Permanent)

Location:­ Hydro Place, St. John’s

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and Labour Relations, you will be responsible for performing a broad range of administrative duties within the Hydro Human Resources and Labour Relations Department.­ You will support the critical HR functions of Recruitment, Labour Relations, Occupational Health, Leadership Development, Performance Management and Training. ­­You will also provide administrative support to the HR/LR Manager and team members.­ Specific duties­ include but are not limited to: supporting recruitment processes including job and exit interview scheduling, and probationary review administration; supporting Occupational Health processes including coordination of ergonomic assessments; coordinating ­training request approvals and data entry into the Learning Management System; creating, coordinating and/or preparing reports using Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards; supporting Labour Relation processes including corresponding with ­the union business office; coordinating internal training sessions and meetings, including documenting minutes as well as managing various calendars.
­
As a HR/LR Assistant, it is essential that you have excellent oral and written communication skills, a high degree of initiative and attention to detail, as well as strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills. ­You have working knowledge of current and efficient office practices and procedures, knowledge and experience in Human Resources and Labour Relations operations would be an asset. ­The successful candidate may be dealing with a high level of sensitive information therefore maintaining confidentiality is essential.­ The Assistant must be able to work in a fast paced environment and balance competing priorities and tasks. ­­If you are looking for a team oriented and challenging career in administrative support, we would like to hear from you.

You possess a Certificate or Diploma in office administration or executive assistant and have a minimum of five (5) years recent and relevant executive assistant or office assistant experience. You must be highly proficient in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with HRIS databases is an asset. A combination of comparable education and experience may be considered.
