Senior Communications Specialist (2 positions)

We’re looking for a senior communications professional – someone who thrives in a complex and fast paced environment and is looking to contribute to a changing organization in a rapidly changing electricity industry. The successful candidate will provide strategy and innovative communications skill to help Hydro achieve a variety of business goals. From external communications and issues management, to employee communications and culture work, to brand development and reputation management – our communications team is doing it all. You could be a part of it too!
Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of skilled communications professionals to develop effective communications messaging and strategies for Hydro.
- Provide strategic advice to varied teams and employees at all levels, including senior leadership and executive.
- Work with highly technical information, but find and create interesting stories that inspire.
- Be innovative in your approach to connect with audiences as you produce of a variety of communications materials including news releases, speeches, presentations, annual reports, website content, social media content, and employee communications.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement and consultation activities, issues management, and media relations.
- Work to build Hydro’s brand and culture from the inside, helping connect employees to our values and foster engagement.
- Be involved in emergency and system response protocols including; on-call communications support.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor of Public Relations, Communications or Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing).
- 10-15+ years in the Public Relations/Communications field.
- Experience working and advising senior level management and executive.
- A flair for creating compelling written communication along with superb attention to detail.
- Creativity and curiosity, and experience with a wide range of innovative communications approaches.
- Ability to successfully implement communication plans and projects with competing deadlines and schedules.
- Experience working in the energy/utility sector is a definite asset.
