Asset Management System Specialist

We are currently offering a challenging and exciting opportunity to provide leadership and expertise in the continuous improvement of Hydro’s maintenance work flow processes and asset management effectiveness with respect to daily operations and overall asset integrity.
­
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Asset Management & Reliability you will engage with senior management, technical professionals and operational personnel to foster and lead the growth of NL Hydro’s maintenance management processes and practices within Hydro’s operating companies. The successful candidate will also interact with other Hydro Business Process Owners personnel (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resources) to implement and improve corporate business processes. You will also interface with Information Systems personnel to develop and maintain software which support maintenance management processes.
­
The incumbent will work in an environment which has a high degree of autonomy, values initiative and focuses on team development and knowledge sharing. Hydro values innovative approaches, strategic thinking and informed decision making principles. The successful individual will help foster growth of organizational abilities and performance across our assets. ­A practical working knowledge of change management and familiarity with the implementation of maintenance best practices would be considered vital to this role.

Job Requirements:
­
  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering ­or Technology,
  • Eligible for membership in Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL),
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in various aspects of an electrical utility or other asset intensive industries,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered,
  • A strong working knowledge of JD­Edwards software being utilized within a mature maintenance management system and knowledge of Asset Management System principles and practices is preferred,
  • You must possess a valid driver license and be willing to travel to the various locations of Hydro’s operations to engage and support personnel and management,
  • The ideal candidate has strong coaching and interpersonal skills, is a team player, and has excellent oral & written communication skills. They are adaptive and an analytical and strategic thinker.­
