Hydro Plant Operator

Key Responsibilities:
Operates the generating plant and performs regular inspections of all generation, transmission and distribution facilities and reports deficiencies; prepares, checks and carries out switching orders and observes indicating and recording instruments to ensure adequate flow of electric power to meet demand and to prevent overloading on generating and associated systems; periodically inspects support structures and associated equipment to detect deterioration or malfunction; participates as a member of the plant emergency organization and responds to all plant emergencies. May be required to work at heights up to 10m. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.

Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
­
What You’ll Need:
High school graduation supplemented with a journeyperson certificate as a Power System Operator through the Corporation’s Apprenticeship program. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.

This is not a rotational position and will require relocation.
