Team Lead – Workforce Planning & Analytics

In this lead position, you are accountable for development and delivery of a holistic integrated workforce plan for the business including implementing a workforce planning framework to ensure the business can meet challenging resource requirements.­ ­You will lead organizational effectiveness providing consultation, reviews and recommendations on organizational structures and design that are aligned with Hydro’s business philosophies and priorities.
­
You are responsible for people analytics and accountable to design and provide reports and concluding summaries that inform others for sound business decisions (e.g., FTE analysis and management, overtime and other labour cost reporting, contracting expenditures and other resourcing outputs). You will also work closely with the HRIS team to ensure effective use and system design opportunities.
­
You are the key HR contact for the Major Projects department and will ensure a Human Resources Strategic Management Plan that aligns with Corporate philosophies and priorities.­Specifically, you will provide HR planning and resourcing strategies, monitor best practise information, and support change management plans reflective of project life cycles as part of the Major Project governance framework.­ You will also identify and support integration opportunities of existing talent to support building in-house expertise for the longer term and ensure gap closure plans where external expertise is required.­
­
You must be a self-motivated and confident individual with strong HR/LR skills, effective interpersonal skills in working with the line of business managers, major projects team and others to understand business needs and challenges.­You will have the highest regard for confidentiality and foster mutual respect in your dealings with diverse individuals. You are a high-impact communicator, exceptional listener and facilitator with the ability to convey key and critical information in an effective manner.
­
You have completed a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration Degree with specialization in Human Resources or Labour Relations and/or a Degree in a relevant social-sciences discipline (i.e. Psychology, Sociology) supplemented with training and experience in Human Resources.­ Special training in workforce planning and/or courses in change management, or a change management designation is considered an asset. A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree or Masters of Employment Relations (MER) would be considered an asset.
­
You have 7 or more years’ experience in Human Resources, specifically in the areas of workforce planning, data analytics, and change management.­You have an ability to work with people, analyze, and resolve complex issues and display confidence in communicating with people at various levels of the organization including most senior level.­Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, business acumen, and negotiation skills are also required.­
­
Ideally this position would reside in our Corporate Office; however, we may be able to consider requests to work from one of our other locations within the province. Travel to Hydro’s various locations in Newfoundland and Labrador may be required.
