Water Resources Technologist

Competition #: NLH-CF-23-076

Status: Temporary

Location: Churchill Falls

Responsibilities:

You will assist in the completion of the Water Resources Summer Work Program including contracted dyke slope repairs, vegetation control, instrument rehabilitation, surveying, etc. You will collect, computerize and analyse the dyke surveillance and hydrological data necessary for water management, as well as for the security of the reservoirs. Performs field inspection of dykes, oil storage tanks, access roads, bridges, water control structures and other civil works.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner

­

Job Requirements:

You shall have a three (3) year Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in dam construction or maintenance. Experience in surveying, computers and soils testing is required. You must have a valid Class 05 driver’s licence and shall have a thorough knowledge of all trade related safety and operating regulations.
