Responsibilities:
Eric G. Lambert School (EGLS) is a K-12 private school of 140 students and 19 teaching units located in the community of Churchill Falls, NL.­ It is operated by NL Hydro – Churchill Falls and follows the prescribed curriculum of the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education.
­
As the School Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing counselling services to EGLS as well as providing support to the school-based service delivery team delivering services to students. Your counselling services will involve both career and personal counselling.
­
Reporting to the Principal, you will provide leadership to school staff, service to students, implement assessments, and participate in response planning for possible critical incidents/traumatic events.
­
You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation’s Safety and Health Program.­ You will also be responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
­
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology/Counselling Psychology or equivalent from a recognized university. A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate or eligibility to receive a Newfoundland and Labrador Teaching Certificate (minimum Certificate V preferred) will be considered an asset. Knowledge and experience in facilitating various psycho-educational assessments would be an asset as well as experience in a similar role.

Please note this position is a full-time position; however a fly in and fly out rotational model would also be considered.
