­
You will perform a range of semi-skilled and labour type tasks on buildings, roads, grounds, dykes, dams and structures; as well as perform cleaning, cooking, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, and operation of hydraulic control gates, painting, sandblasting, rigging and scaffolding.­ You will also assist in the performing of maintenance and repairs to corporation’s facilities, structures and grounds including carpentry, plumbing, painting and masonry work.­ You will also be responsible for staffing up-country structures when required. You must be able to operate mobile equipment and be able to perform tanker duties at the marine terminal and perform Type 1 asbestos removal as per provincial regulations.­ You may be required to work at heights up to 130m and in confined spaces and complete all other duties related to or associated with this classification
­
You are responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
­
You have graduated high school and have a certified scaffolding course, supplemented by three years’ experience and training in the building trades.­ You must also have knowledge and training of the construction and operation of earth and concrete dams, as well as the operation of diesel generator units.­ You should also have knowledge and training in the operation of mobile equipment and hydraulic boom operations.­ You have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license, and the following endorsements: 03 – tandem axle and 09 – air brake would be considered an asset.
