Senior Supervisor - Facilities Management & Fleet Support

­
The Senior Supervisor, Facilities Management and Fleet Support is responsible for the development and planning of Hydro Place administrative services and facilities and fleet management processes, as well as the transportation of automobiles and heavy equipment.­ You have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and are able to foster effective working relationships across the business. ­You will work with operational departments to develop policies and procedures, while ensuring appropriate fleet size requirements. ­You will be responsible for contract management, annual budgets, cost benefit analysis, capital planning and long term planning for the associated areas under this position.­
­
Principal Activities, Duties and Responsibilities:
­
  • Provide direction to Operations Supervisor in the development and implementation of appropriate work plans
  • Implement Hydro Place work management system, preventative maintenance program and develop internal processes to manage on an ongoing basis
  • Ensures all facility systems are included in the Preventative Maintenance program, are tested, inspected and certified per provincial legislation
  • Work with Engineering Services, Capital Budgeting staff and Long Term Asset Planning to manage and update the 5 and 25 year Capital plans
  • Assist with the development of technical scopes of work for Hydro Place and liaise with Supply Chain to have requirements procured while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legislation
  • Coordinate with safety team to identify and implement all work related to security of the building and grounds
  • Liaise with Engineering Services to prepare feed documents, modify scopes and advise of safety and operational requirements for all Capital work
  • Coordinate with the Safety team to identify any work related to security of the building
  • Develop, update and implement policies and procedures related to facilities management, fleet management and transportation of mobile equipment, automobiles and specialized equipment
  • Contract management­ for various contracts related to facilities and fleet management as well as equipment transportation contract
  • Manage building safety and security plan
  • Review, maintain and ensure compliance with emergency response plan and the environmental emergency response plan; conduct necessary compliance testing when required
  • Responsible for managing and allocation of floor space to ensure all are up to date, complete periodic updates as required and provide monthly reports to budgeting department as required
  • Develops and maintains pooled vehicle booking system, and analyzes pool vehicle usage data and maintain a database of light fleet vehicles and associated data
  • Coordinates with Asset Specialist - Fleet to ensure required vehicle maintenance is completed

Qualifications:
­
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor degree in Business/Commerce or Engineering.­ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Supervisory experience
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive responsibility in facilities, building operations and fleet management
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, JDE and financial management systems
  • Knowledge of computerized fleet management systems is considered a strong asset
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in building safety and security is required
