Occupational Health Nurse (Permanent)

Are you someone who demonstrates responsibility, accountability and leadership in providing direction and guidance in the management of Occupational Health Services? We require a motivated and driven individual to join our team in Churchill Falls. The ideal candidate uses their combined health care expertise, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and business acumen to manage and promote a prevention oriented and cost effective health care program for our business.

Reporting to the Manager of Safety, Health & Environment and receiving technical guidance from the Corporate Occupational Health team, the Occupational Health Nurse provides consultation, guidance, and coordination/delivery of Occupational Health Services to all departments within the Nalcor Energy Churchill Falls Team. The OHN coordinates occupational health and medical consultation, medical travel assistance, disability management, and employee health and wellness programs to promote employee health and attendance at work. This position maintains positive relationships with our internal and external health care partners and ensures policies, procedures and programs operate in support of our operational as well as our corporate Safety and Health strategies.

You have a Bachelor of Nursing and practicing license with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL). Post-secondary education in a health related field such as Occupational Health Nursing, COHN(C), Disability Management or Counselling is required. You have a minimum 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health, disability management or a related field. You are organized and have strong communication, and problem-solving skills. You have advanced computer skills working with Microsoft Office suite, database maintenance and software applications (Cority). A Class Five (5) Driver’s License is required. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is a definite asset.
