Diesel System Representative (Relief)
Competition Number: NLH-18-126
You will function as the controlling authority for the isolated diesel plant. You will review and request work to be performed on the isolated diesel plant and distribution systems. You will provide isolation for work crews as required in order to guarantee safety. You will operate diesel powered generators, including starting engines and adjusting controls for desired operating speed; check temperature and pressure gauges to ensure proper functioning of lubrication and cooling systems; monitor the operation and output; lubricate bearings and mechanical parts, make minor adjustments and perform normal housekeeping duties. You are responsible for all record keeping and overall responsibility for the plant. You are required to climb utility poles and perform limited line duties such as streetlight repair, customer hook-ups, line repairs, customer disconnections, etc. You will perform basic electrical/mechanical repairs to plant equipment. You are responsible for customer service functions such as meter reading, meter removal, accounts receivable collections and all associated paperwork. As well as all other duties related to or associated with this classification.
You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and are responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
You have progressed through the DSR training program as established by the Corporation and have one year experience. You shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. You may be required to possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.
