Diesel Plant Operator (Relief)
Competition Number: NLH-18-101
Location: L’Anse Au Loop

You will operate diesel powered generators including starting engines and adjusting controls for desired operating speed; check pressure and temperature gauges to ensure proper functioning of lubrication and cooling systems; monitor the operation and output; lubricates bearings and mechanical parts; make minor adjustments and repairs and performs normal housekeeping duties. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.

You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and are responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

You have graduated High School and have completed entry-level courses in the electrical, heavy-duty repair, power engineering or marine diesel fields or 9 month pre-employment in the electrical field and 2 year’s experience in a utility environment. You have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and may be required to possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.
