Electrical Design Engineer

The Engineering Services Division is focused on providing quality project management, engineering design services, and engineering support for capital projects and operating programs. Our long term Asset Management Plan includes an ambitious capital program to rebuild, renew, and replace portions of our installed asset base. One important component of the program involves the replacement, renewal and addition of electrical systems.

We currently have a position in the Electrical Engineering Department for an Electrical Engineer. If you are an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual; have a robust learning ability; possess strong oral and written communication skills; are an effective team member and possess good leadership, you can make a significant contribution to the Department’s initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities:
You will join a multi-discipline team working in a project environment to design and implement modifications to modern electrical systems. This position will engage you in:

• Electrical analysis, design and tender preparation;
• Preparation of project proposals (capital & operating);
• Preparation of engineering reports;
• Technical operations support;
• Equipment trouble shooting/investigation;
• Preparation of project estimates, schedules and resource requirements;
• Application of new technologies and products;
• Project management.

Job Requirements:
You will need to bring the following:

• Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical);
• Eligible for membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador association;
• Proven communication, team and leadership skills;
• Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver’s license;
• Willingness to travel.
