Human Resources and Labour Relations Lead (2 Year Term)

Location: Bishop’s Falls, NL

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and Labour Relations, you will work in the Bishop’s Falls office and play a key leadership role working closely with regional and hydro plant managers/supervisors. Periodic business travel will be required throughout the province.
­
As the HR/LR Lead, you’re on deck to ensure that the business receives top notch human resources services. You will have latitude and judgment in developing, administering and delivering HR/ LR solutions to meet the needs of Hydro management and employees.­ You will be responsible for providing expert HR and LR guidance and support in sustaining Hydro’s commitment to people development, with a focus on coaching managers and supervisors, collective agreement interpretation, employee engagement, grievance management, performance management and also assisting with employee communications. ­­This will include the deployment of best-practice policies, processes and systems in a fast paced, performance focused environment.
­
Qualifications for this senior HR role include a degree in business or related discipline, preferably supplemented by a master’s degree and/or CHRP designation, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressively responsible experience in a broad range of human resource management functions, labour relations, and people development and ideally at least 5 of those years working with a unionized operations workforce.­ Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills and an ability to work with others from widely diverse backgrounds in a collaborative team environment is a must and supervisory experience is an asset.
