Created in 2016, Nalcor Energy Power Supply, oversees non-regulated utility operations and assets, and encompasses Churchill Falls (CF (L) Co), the Labrador-Island Transmission Link, Labrador Transmission Assets, Strait of Belle Isle Marine Cable Crossing, and existing generation assets. Once Lower Churchill Project construction is complete, Power Supply will also operate and maintain the project’s generation and transmission assets.
Access and Privacy Officer
Location: St. John’s, NL
The Access & Privacy Officer is responsible and accountable for ensuring the Corporation’s compliance with the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, 2015 ("ATIPPA"), which includes managing and coordinating responses to ATIPP requests with the various divisions and lines of business of the Corporation. You will: analyze complex records and provide advice; maintain positive client relations with applicants while maintaining strict confidentiality, pursuant to the requirements of ATIPPA; coordinate responses to requests from the Office of the Citizens’ Representative and ensure the Corporation meets its statutory obligations. You will maintain a file management system associated with ATIPP requests; conduct legislative and policy research; develop, maintain, and update policies and procedures related to access and privacy for the Corporation and make specific recommendations to ensure compliance with ATIPPA and other relevant legislation. You will coordinate the delivery of access and privacy training within the Corporation including employee information sessions.
You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
You have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university in a related area such as business administration, public administration or law, supplemented by a minimum of five years’ experience. You have strong analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to make sound recommendations and have effective communication and relationship building skills. You have the ability to exercise a high level of discretion, attention to detail and a high level of professionalism, competency and efficiency. Expert knowledge of ATIPPA and similar legislation in other Canadian jurisdictions as well as federal legislation would be considered an asset.
