Planning Engineer Competition #: NLH-13-003 Location: St. John’s You will be responsible to carry out studies of the existing transmission, generation and distribution systems, using predetermined planning criteria, to determine when and where problems will occur with regard to system capacity. You will formulate alternatives to alleviate these problems and complete technical and economic evaluation of the alternatives. You will also be responsible to prepare technical reports detailing the alternatives studied and the recommended solution, as well as, providing technical assistance to Operations and Engineering groups and to the team working on the integration of the Muskrat Falls development. You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner. You have graduated from a recognized University with a Degree in Electrical Engineering supplemented with a minimum four years relevant engineering experience. You are eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) . You must be able to work well in a team environment and have excellent leadership qualities, written and oral communications skills, and organizational ability. You should also possess a high level of proficiency in the use of computing devices and software applications. You must possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver’s license.
